dear diary, it's been valentine's day today. well i didnt really know about the history of the name valentine. but i just discovered it in wikipedia. it is said that saint valentine was the name of several martyrs in ancient Rome. the name valentine is derived from the word 'valens' that means worthy. i didnt quite get the relation between saint valentine and the love. well my ex girlfriend several years ago told me that valentine is the love itself.
so right now you must be tired of reading the intro. you might be wondering what i'd done in my lonely valentine's day. i'd done a lot of fun things. yeah it's fun and not romantic at all. god i missed the romantic times with my ex! well actually i went to ex the mall today with my friends. i got the difference between the jomblo fun then the romance fun. the jomblo fun is more like the happiness of freedom. and the romance fun is something serious and you know how much your girlfriend means to you. i prefer the jomblo fun better. yeahh fredooom ! that's all we need to be a normal easy-going child, isnt it?
first, i woke up at 9 and played fifa 09 till i broke. i settled in for a little bit of bread that was dipped in egg. throw it on the pan and fry it till it became kinda brown-ish yellow. and my family and i ate it by dipping it again in the mashed potatoes that my mother'd made the night before. let me call that the french-dutch toast. french toast: because it's dipped in egg and fried. and dutch because it's eaten with mashed potatoes. yeah i loved it. i ate 3 of them. just very well to start the val's day.
i went to ex at 1pm. i played pool at q-billiard just to wait my other friends to come. i waited them for almost an hour. damn it how come they're always late. after they came, i played with daryl for a little title match. i won the game very intensely. the objective was to reach 5 and to win by 2 games. so it's supposed to be around 5,6 or 7 but it turned out to be very tight and i beat him by the final score of 9-7 and i become the EX Q-BILLIARD MASTER undeniably it is super lebay.
after that we went to fish & co to have a lunch. i had a prawn fettucini. it was bad food. but i enjoyed the calamary though. so we went straight to the XXI to watch a movie called valkyrie. here's the synopsis
In a country in the grips of evil, in a police state where every move is being watched, in a world where justice and honor have been subverted, a group of men hidden inside the highest reaches of power decide to take action. Based on the true story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and the daring and ingenious plot to eliminate one of the most evil tyrants the world has ever known.
A proud military man, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal officer who serves his country all the while hoping that someone will find a way to stop Hitler before Europe and Germany are destroyed. Realizing that time is running out, he decides that he must take action himself and joins the German resistance. Armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitler's own emergency plan - known as Operation Valkyrie - these men plot to assassinate the dictator and overthrow his Nazi government from the inside.
With everything in place, with the future of the world, the fate of millions and the lives of his wife and children hanging in the balance, von Stauffenberg is thrust from being one of many who oppose Hitler to the one who must kill Hitler himself.
i think it's a 4 star movie for me. the story was good, the picture was tremendous, the sound made it perfect and i also got a meaning from this story. actually sometimes the good couldnt defeat the evil, but in the end there would be no such a winning or losing. but there will be a feeling of satisfaction. and we had to even die for something just to get that feeling. it's a feeling of a champion. a feeling of a true winner. the winner of his own self. and the thing we must do is just to do the thing that we believe the good and try to fight for it.
after the movie, we played pool again. this time we played the 'last man standing' game. it's a 3-people game. each person has their own balls. the objective is to put in the other balls except your own balls. the person who has their own balls even by one will win. it was fun, but i sucked. the 2 other players daryl and mario worked together and put me to be their opponent. i lost every time. it was a cheat actually but i didnt care. i am still the ex q-billiard master anyway. LOL.
before going home, we went to starbucks for a little bit of break. my friends had a single glass of iced green tea latte. it looked very good but i didnt drink anything there. i just ate a single stroopwafel. i knew it was from holland because my aunts usually bring me that cake everytime they get back from holland. i said it to rene but he didnt care. i think he was tired with my racism and jokes. i met rena there and she was sad and also happy because she admitted in saint joseph institution but also sad because she doesnt want to go there and felt terrible to her friends.
finally i want to congratulate to
nicholas gozi naufal c.kristo. agung alvin nael maxi and all my other friends that are admitted in SJI. well done. time to move on. it would be a big step for them to reach higher education. okay i think it's been a lot for today's post. and i had better be sleeping because at 11 tomorrow i'll be doing the fun tennis lesson again. yeah!
signing off..
